Hazard description
On certain air dryers installed on trailers manufactured by Porcupine Trailers, the retaining bolts for the reed covers on either end of the dryer may crack causing the bolt ends to come off. This condition may allow the reed cover to come off and the reed valve to become disengaged. If a "control side" reed cover comes off, air can leak out at the trailer air dryer and the trailer service braking may be lost. If a "service side" reed cover comes off, air can leak out of the trailer system and the trailer's parking brakes can be suddenly engaged without prior warning. Trailer air dryers will be replaced with a modified version.
