2001–2002 Gmc Topkick C6 Recall

Certain vehicles equipped with the 8.1L engine may have a condition where the fuel filter to component box mounting bolts are reversed. With the bolts reversed the threaded bolt end is orientated towards the front wall of the left hand fuel tank. In the event of a frontal collision the bolt could pierce the tank, resulting in fuel leakage which could result in a fire. Correction : Dealers will correctly install the bolts.
