Issue
Hazard description
On certain snowmobiles, while the vehicle is not in operation, the electric starter may engage by itself, which could start the engine. This could only occur if the operator leaves the engine cut out switch in the "ON" position and the tether cut out switch cap on the switch post. If the engine runs in a non ventilated area, it would pose a risk of asphyxiation. Also, while the vehicle is idling, the engine may stop and then restart in the reverse stationary mode (SDI models only). If this were to occur, the operator could have his/her vehicle start in reverse mode and if he/she did not pay attention to the change of mode (with the reverse alarm sounds emanating from the Warning Buzzer and with the blinking of the Reverse Pilot Lamp), he/she could apply throttle and have the vehicle move unintentionally in reverse. Correction: Dealer will replace the electric start switch.
