Issue
Hazard description
On certain motorcycles, the left front upper suspension A-arm pivot bolt was tightened incorrectly. Consequently, the nut can loosen, allowing the bolt to back out partway and the A-arm to separate from the rear side of the frame mount-bracket. While the A-arm is still secured to the vehicle via the lower shock mount and steering knuckle, separation of the frame-mounted end of the A-arm causes front wheel misalignment which affects steering control and could lead to an accident, resulting in injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect the gap between the collar and the A-arm mounting bracket on the frame, add washer as required, and tighten the nut of the pivot bolt with specified torque.
