1998–2000 Transcraft Tl80k Recall

Certain trailers do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 223 - Rear Impact Guard. The rear bumper vertical brace gussets were manufactured using lower grade steel than is required by the Standard. This would allow the bumper to fail by folding under the trailer at lower impact forces. Failure or the rear bumper could allow vehicles involved in a collision with the rear end of the trailer to run under the trailer, which could result in severe injuries to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will reinforce the rear bumper assembly.
