2003–2004 Suzuki Burgman 650 (An650) Recall

On certain scooters, if the ignition switch is misoperated to a position between OFF and ON, unstable contact between the ignition switch contacts can cause a continuous arc discharge between the contacts. Heat from the discharge can cause melting of the contact base plate. If the motorcycle is ridden in this condition for an extended period of time, the contacts may lose conductivity causing the lighting system to become inoperative and the engine to stall and be unable to be restarted. Correction: Dealers will replace the contact base plate assembly.
