2002 Pierce Custom Chassis Recall

On certain fire trucks equipped with the ALLSTEER option, incorrect programming in the Vehicle Interface Module (VIM) may shut down the ALLSTEER function in mid-turn, preventing the rear steering axle wheel from returning to center. If this condition occurs, the driver may lose steering control, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the VIM.
