Hazard description
On certain low floor transit buses, the flip-out ramp designed to assist riders with wheelchairs or mobility aids enter and exit the vehicle may fail. The ramp hinges may have inadequate spot-welds unable to withstand the designed load limit of the ramp assembly. Failure of the hinge assembly spot-welds could allow the ramp to separate from the vehicle, resulting in injury to the user. Correction: Owner notification including repair instructions will be supplied. Fleet customers are to install hardware to the hinges which will make the spot-weld redundant.
