Hazard description
On certain motorcycles, the welded joint on the shift lever shaft may fail causing the shift lever to become inoperable. If this component separates at the welded joint, the transmission cannot be shifted and will remain in the gear that was selected prior to the joint breaking. Correction: Dealers will replace the shift lever shaft.
