Hazard description
On certain motorcycles, the fuel pump retaining clips contain a surface defect. This defect creates a stress riser and can cause the retaining clip to fail. When the clip fails, the fuel pump is allowed to separate from the fuel regulator resulting in a loss of fuel pressure. This loss of fuel pressure can cause the engine to quit running unexpectedly. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel pump retaining clip.
