1992–1993 New Flyer D40hf Recall

On certain buses, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) has an incorrect character in the 9th position. This character is a check digit and is calculated depending upon the remaining 16 characters in the VIN. Customers who may be trying to sell or re-register these vehicles may encounter difficulties insuring the vehicle as the VIN will not pass today's computer verification process. Correction: Customers encountering problems selling or registering these vehicles should contact New Flyer for a letter of validation to be presented to the insuring authority.
