2006–2007 Kalmar Ottawa 6x4 Recall

On certain trucks, the heater/defroster duct may have been installed incorrectly during vehicle assembly. Resulting chaffing damage may expose the ducting's steel spiral reinforcement. Should the reinforcement be contacted with an electrical power connector such as the power stud on the firewall, it may cause an electrical short, possibly resulting in a vehicle fire causing personal injury and/or vehicle and property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace with non-metallic ducting.
