Hazard description
Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. These vehicles may have been equipped with a switch that allows operators to turn off the daytime running light (DRL) while the vehicle is in motion, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. No DRL illumination could render the vehicle less visible to other motorists and pedestrians during daylight hours, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the existing DRL override switch with a spare switch and disable the override feature.
