Hazard description
Issue: On certain trucks, the spring brake chambers may have been built with defective springs. Over time, this could cause wear and result in an air leak that can cause the parking brake to apply suddenly. Safety Risk: A parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the spring brake chambers. Any chamber with a shifted pressure plate will be replaced.
