On certain aerial devices, the cylinder end gland could fail which could cause uncontrolled boom movement which would increase the risk of injury to the operator. Correction : Dealers will inspect the cylinder head gland for deformation and repair or replace the cylinder head gland as necessary. Note: if the unit has a cylinder with a threaded head gland, the entire cylinder will be replaced.
